Meet the Team
Chris Rycroft is a successful businessman and entrepreneur who introduced the first radio baby monitor to the UK, was at one time the world’s largest supplier of stair gates and who played a leading role in developing the UK electronic games industry in the 1980s through his company, Adam Leisure Group. In 2010, along with son James, he created Vida Healthcare with a view to developing a pioneering care home for people living with dementia, after recognising that the care sector wasn’t meeting the increasing demand for specialist dementia facilities.
In the care industry for over a decade, James was
responsible for overseeing the design and development
of Vida Hall. He feels privileged to be able to inuence
the delivery of dementia care in the UK. Working closely
with Bernadette Mossman and the healthcare team,
James ensures the delivery of outstanding and
personalised care for all residents as well as planning
future projects and developments for Vida Healthcare.
Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts over 23 years' experience in both public and private sector roles; prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider with over 400 homes across the UK where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising 450 personnel and 300 beds.
With ten years experience in the care industry, Jill is responsible for day-to-day operations at Vida Hall in an unusual approach which has split the role of registered care home manager into two.
Overseeing all aspects of hotel services and facilities management, this allows the registered manager to concentrate solely on healthcare and continued delivery of a best practice working environment, knowing that the operational side is in good hands.
A mental health nurse, Pam has worked in dementia care for 28 years, most recently at a large care provider in Harrogate. She says: "I have a fantastic team that are all passionate about creating an outstanding home for people with dementia."
Wendy became an RGN in 1986 and in her 30 years experience has worked in a variety of acute environments before specialising in elderly healthcare. Wendy's passion is delivering exceptional dementia care and she is committed to leading the team at Vida Hall in her drive for constant innovation and improvement.
